As demographic changes continue to reshape the modern workforce, companies are taking a more active role in supporting employees through different stages of life. To create a more supportive and resilient work environment, Silicon Power has introduced a series of family-friendly benefits starting in June 2026, including reduced working hours for childcare and paid family care leave.

Expanding Childcare Support Through Reduced Working Hours

For working parents, daily responsibilities such as school drop-offs and pick-ups, childcare arrangements, and school transition periods can be among the most practical challenges of balancing work and family life.

To better support employees with childcare needs, Silicon Power is participating in the Taipei City Government’s reduced working hours program for childcare, while introducing measures that go beyond current legal requirements. Under this policy, eligible employees with children may reduce their working hours by one hour per day according to their needs, while maintaining regular pay.

Silicon Power has also expanded eligibility to employees with children aged 12 and under. Employees of Taiwanese nationality may apply regardless of household registration location, giving working parents greater flexibility to manage family care responsibilities while remaining engaged at work.

Introducing Paid Family Care Leave for Broader Caregiving Needs

Family care responsibilities extend beyond childcare. Employees may also need to care for elderly family members, accompany relatives to medical appointments, or respond to unexpected family situations.

To provide more practical support, Silicon Power has introduced paid family care leave in addition to statutory family care leave. Based on years of service, employees will receive an additional one to two days of paid family care leave per year. The leave may also be taken in increments of 0.5 hours, allowing employees to manage family care needs with greater flexibility.
