Sustainable Environment
Environmental Management Policy and Commitment
Silicon Power deeply understands the impact of corporate operations on the environment. Adhering to the environmental management principles of "Compliance with Regulations, Green Production, Environmentally Friendly, and Full Participation," we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations and manufacturing processes. We view environmental protection as a core cornerstone of corporate sustainable development, implementing full life-cycle environmental management from product design, raw material procurement, and manufacturing to final disposal, through a comprehensive environmental management system. We commit to continuously investing resources to improve environmental performance and integrating environmental considerations into all operational decisions to fulfill our responsibility towards the global environment.
Since 2010, SP's Taipei headquarters has fully implemented the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. Through systematic management methods, we identify and evaluate environmental risks and opportunities in operational activities, developing corresponding management measures and improvement plans. We have established a complete environmental monitoring mechanism, regularly reviewing environmental performance indicators to ensure all operational activities comply with legal requirements and continuously improve. Through internal environmental audits and regular management reviews, we continuously optimize environmental management processes and enhance overall environmental performance.
Green Product Design and Packaging Innovation
In the product development phase, SP deeply integrates environmentally friendly concepts into design thinking. From material selection and process planning to packaging design, reducing environmental impact is a key consideration. We are committed to green packaging design, minimizing packaging volume while ensuring product protection and necessary labeling, avoiding excessive packaging design, and effectively reducing packaging waste. At the same time, we prioritize the selection of easily recyclable packaging materials and actively evaluate the feasibility of using recycled materials to promote the circular utilization of packaging materials.
In response to global environmental regulations, SP has added the Triman logo, clearly marking electronic product packaging with sorting instructions and recycling symbols to comply with environmental regulations in countries like France and other European nations. In the product planning stage, we incorporate recyclability and the applicability of recycled materials as important considerations, ensuring products can be effectively recycled at the end of their life cycle. 100% of the packaging materials used for transporting products are recycled cardboard boxes, demonstrating our practical implementation of circular economy principles.
Water Resource Management and Circular Utilization
SP emphasizes the sustainable use of water resources and has established a comprehensive water resource management system. We conduct water resource risk assessments for our main operational sites, ensuring all sites are located in areas with stable water supply. By regularly monitoring water consumption trends, we can promptly identify abnormal water usage and take corrective actions. Simultaneously, we actively promote water-saving measures, including equipment improvement, process optimization, and the establishment of circulating water systems, to enhance water resource utilization efficiency.
Regarding water quality management, SP strictly adheres to relevant regulatory requirements, ensuring all wastewater discharges comply with environmental standards. We have established a complete water quality monitoring mechanism, regularly testing incoming and outgoing water quality to minimize environmental impact. We are also actively evaluating the feasibility of introducing circular water technologies such as rainwater harvesting and reclaimed water reuse to further enhance water resource utilization efficiency.
Climate Change Risk Management
Facing the challenges and opportunities brought by global climate change, SP refers to the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) framework to establish a comprehensive climate risk assessment and management mechanism. We systematically assess and disclose climate-related risks and opportunities based on four core elements: governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets, ensuring the company maintains operational resilience in the face of climate change challenges.
Through scenario analysis and stress testing, we identify physical and transition risks that may impact operations and develop corresponding response strategies. For the "2050 Net Zero Emissions" transition risk, we conduct detailed financial impact assessments and proactively plan relevant response measures and budget allocations. Simultaneously, we actively pay attention to business opportunities brought by climate change, including increased demand for green products and the development of energy-saving technologies, integrating these opportunities into our corporate strategic planning to enhance the company's climate resilience and competitive advantage.
