UDIMM

  • # Memory

What is UDIMM?

UDIMM (Unbuffered Dual In-line Memory Module). A type of computer memory module that directly connects to the motherboard without additional buffering, offering faster performance but limited capacity compared to buffered alternatives.

Simply Put:

Think of UDIMM like a direct phone line to your boss. It’s fast and efficient with no assistant in between. This setup works well when there aren’t too many calls or data, but in a busy office or large system, the boss can get overwhelmed. That’s when buffered memory steps in, acting like an assistant who helps manage the traffic.
