A big step for Silicon Power, a big love for the earth we live in ! 2007-04-27
TAIPEI, TAIWAN, 27 APRIL, 2007 -- Silicon Power Computer & Communications Inc., a leading brand in flash memory manufacturing from Taiwan, proudly announces its newest compliance with GCC . With environmental protection issue becoming a growing concern, Silicon Power is aware and hopes to acquire the qualifications which are recognized by the international society, and GCC is one of them.

In response to the international environment claims on electronic and electrical products, EU has already legislated by imposing RoHS on imported electronic products and components and made enforceable on July 1, 2006. And GCC (Green Component Certificate) is the GC-001 certification standard that certifies the compliance with the GC-002 Plant Inspection Operation Standards. Silicon Power has obtained GCC certified label after the severe plant inspecting process. The recent change in weather conditions has created a great awareness on the danger humans are causing to the environment. Associations such as TEEMA (Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association) has jointed the efforts and rapports from key players in the E/E manufacturing field in creating the GCC. To differentiate itself from the RoHS and WEEE, GCC aims in providing for E/E manufacturers with a platform to comply with and to ensure the process of manufacturing is certified under strict rules set by GCC inspection unit.

By obtaining the GCC, Silicon Power not only proves its capability on producing environmental-friendly E/E products, but also showing its love and compassion to the earth we live in. Consumers can purchase products from Silicon Power that are certified and ensured of the compliance of RoHS and GCC at any shop near you. Silicon Power will keep striving for the best quality and improving our manufacturing process to meet with the highest standard of environmental regulations.
